All the king's horses and all the king's men
Brought down the wall in a show of their strength
And when they were done breaking and hauling
They paid their respects to those who had fallen
Each one secretly wondering whether
What was broken could ever be put back together.

This is actually funny (a dry, dark kind of funny but…).
BTW, Radio Erevan already said :”Yes, it could, but it will be a pity”
PS. The use of “ever” breaks the rhythm, but one could interpret it as part of the context…
