You know you're getting old when...

...you see a young woman walking down the street in a tiny, tiny mini-skirt and your instinctive reaction is - wow! isn't she cold in that thing?

You're not old (ok, well maybe you are) but that reaction is just sensible and pragmatic.

Heh, et tu Fal? I thought I was the only one? ;-)

You loathsome swamp creature, I was about to make a post out of that!

On the other hand, my story was about New Year's Eve.
Nineteen ninety SIX.
So maybe it's time-barred.

OK. Good point. Ha ha ha.

I don't know abt old, most men (and women) I know used to say that from time immemorial. Followed by "oh, she must be drunk, thats only reason she can take it".

Hold on...weird thought...but you did not necessarily mean yourself when you were writing it. I mean, you might have...but it could very easily be a comment on someone else! Now that would be mean! ;-)

Or you could be a sensible gay man.

leaf: :-)

szerelem: Isn't it though. I don't get how people can walk about in sub zero temperatures (when I'm shivering under four layers of clothes) wearing mini-skirts. Don't they feel cold. The truth is I'm envious.

mohit: yup, me too - and no I wasn't talking about someone else.

JAP: Yes, I think a decade is about the statute of limitations on blog post patents.

veena: Hmmm...except she didn't look drunk at all.

anonymous: No, no, I'm clearly not sensible.

You are envious that you cant wear a mini skirt?

But you know you've achieved Absurd Levels of Oldness if you look at a chica in miniskirt and go "so does this mean we are officially out of recession"?

km said...

Oh, and also referring to a young woman as "chica". Another sure sign of senility.

How was her face to look at? ;-)
Or were you, you know...like...so cold (!) that you did not bother?

oops szerelem, you and i think alike (see my quote on his 60 degrees post). falsie has this dangerous effect on us..

n!

szerelem: not a mini-skirt specifically, more generally envious of indifference to cold.

gayatri: Now, now, I didn't say that. I just think it's less clear - after all, I fit the stereotype, don't I? But don't go injuring your head just yet.

km: Ah, the macro picture. And ya, seriously, chica is so dated.

altering abhishek: glad you agree

mohit: I can't remember.

n!: May I remind you that you're married, and that married women are not supposed to go around picturing other men in mini-skirts. This is seriously disturbing. The next time we go for a concert together I am so not sitting next to you.
