Ask me if I'm happy

[Poem Request # 4]

Okay, so if you folks won't ask for verse forms, I'll impose them on myself. And since it's apparently triolet season, I might as well try my hand at one.

Ask me if I'm happy
I'll be happy if you do.
My day has been quite crappy
but ask me if I'm happy
say it soft or make it snappy
and my night won't be as blue.
Ask me if I'm happy
I'll be happy if you do.

Some anagrammatic verse perhaps? Or an aubade, in blank verse, a la Nash?

So ARE you? Happy I mean?

aren't you happy
o, with the things you do
and the night's not so crappy
why, aren't you happy
and don't you go a-tap-snap-n-zappy
when you're bored of the blues
boy, aren't you happy
with all the things you do ?

space bar: Patience! Patience! Though I don't intend to do the canzone, I think the sestina is going to be challenge enough.

extempore: Hmmm...will think about that

fifi: me? I'm always happy.

Triolets are tricky
so thanks for your comment.
It's not just that they're witty
but triolets are tricky
so this one ain't a quicky
but is well and truly meant.
