Little Known Hazards of Python Videos

Part VI C: The Songs

Re-watched The Meaning of Life the other day, and haven't been able to stop humming 'Every Sperm is Sacred' since. This would have been bad enough if I'd been doing it at home (though I do so hate getting a song, especially a not particularly good song, stuck in my head) but I actually caught myself sort of half-singing it on the bus yesterday. The nice old lady sitting next to me looked most offended.

Heh.

I was watching a Jacques Tati film last night and the DVD had Terry Jones doing a (brilliant) introduction to the film. In my next life, I want to come back as one of the Pythons.

I read this blogpost sometime back about Germans having a word (ohrwurms) for the phenomenon of getting a bad song stuck in ones head. This is the accompanying article in IHT on the same subject.

Writing about the song wasn't enough for you, was it Falstaff? You just had to go ahead and add that link to the clip, didn't you? Now I have the song stuck in my head.

Thanks a lot.

km: I'm with you there. Hell, I'd settle for coming back as Carol Cleveland.

chetan: Thanks. Trust the Germans to come up with words about fucked up mental states.

raoul: You're welcome. Share and share alike is what I always say.

'Every Sperm' does tend to have that effect. I was at the best friend's house once and couldn't stop singing it despite being shushed by her constantly because her parents (while excellent parents in most respects) would have been horrified by it.

aishwarya: You too, huh? Good to know I'm not the only one.
